Contact Information

Shanu Mehta leads the Nanowell Cytometry Platform in the Flow Cytometry Core at the Koch Institute. Her team offers training and expertise in various single cell analysis techniques such as SeqWell & Microengraving; techniques that were developed in the Love and Shalek Lab at MIT. The Core manufactures and serves as a unique global supplier for nanowell devices; an array of wells that can be used for single cell analysis methods. The Core offers access to an automated robotic micromanipulator called the CellCelector; a tool that allows retrieval of viable single cells for colony development or genomic analysis.

Shanu has a bachelor’s and a master’s in microbiology from Sardar Patel University in Gujarat, India. During her master’s, she did her research project on transplantation immunology and studied immune response during graft rejection. She joined the Koch Institute in 2016 to lead the Nanowell Cytometry Platform. She has over 15 years of combined experience in research and in managing laboratory and facility operations. Prior to joining the Koch Institute, Shanu served as the Director of Operations at Enumeral Biomedical, a startup biotech founded by Christopher Love from 2010-2016. Shanu is a member of the Association of Biomolecular Research Facilities.
