Research centers

Solving a problem as complex as drug resistance or metastatic spread requires a dedicated home where biologists and engineers can work side-by-side with clinical partners over the long haul. At the Koch Institute, our research centers serve as high-powered hubs of sustained innovation, providing the stable foundation needed to solve the most intractable and highest priority challenges in cancer research.

Across three specialized centers and a dedicated stem cell initiative, KI catalyzes breakthrough innovations in cancer detection, therapy, and monitoring. Dedicated to specific areas of research, these centers offer the institutional and financial support necessary for collaborative efforts that might otherwise be too complex for a single laboratory to navigate alone.

Here, our investigators generate the discoveries and inventions that translate bold ideas into clinical realities, while simultaneously serving as a robust training ground for the next generation of engineers and scientists. Through scientific symposia and frequent clinical gatherings, these centers establish new collaborations that redefine what is possible in cancer care.

Whether we are engineering targeted nanomedicines or refining the strategies of precision medicine, our research centers ensure that scientists’ most promising ideas have the sustained momentum needed to reach the clinic.
