Zebrafish: Services

The facility consists of two separate aquarium systems with over 1000 tanks each, as well as distinct nursery and quarantine spaces.  In addition, the facility has equipment for microinjection, light and fluorescence microscopy, and stackable short-term storage systems (e.g., for use during genotypic screening).

Facility staff manages all aquarium maintenance and water quality monitoring, feeding, and breeding of animals to be raised in the facility.  Staff also assists in importation of lines from other facilities and bringing animals through quarantine.

Training is available for a wide variety of techniques as well as assistance with assay development, experimental design, and CAC protocols.  For researchers with more defined experimental needs, assisted work is an option.  For example, the facility can provide clutches of fertilized eggs or perform microinjections of DNA, RNA, or antisense reagents.
