Consultation and assistance

Initial consultation, basic assistance and experimental guidance, and image data processing tutorials are available at no cost to the investigator. Contact Core Leader Scott Malstrom to schedule consultation.


Training in the use of any imaging platform, including image acquisition and processing software, is available and required for all new users. Contact to schedule training.

Independent use of facility instruments

Most facility instruments are available for independent use after an initial training and orientation session provided by Core staff; scheduling is via iLab for each instrument.

Assisted work

Assisted Imaging

Staff-conducted imaging on investigator-submitted samples is available for all imaging modalities.

MRI and PET/CT imaging are available on an assisted basis only.

Preclinical Studies

Comprehensive services and training are available for the design, development and execution of preclinical animal studies including:

  • Experimental design
  • Animal care protocols
  • EHS requirements
  • Mouse or rat breeding and genotyping
  • Tumor induction
  • Drug administration
  • Device implantation
  • Animal imaging
  • Tissue and/or fluid sampling
  • Tissue harvesting
